About the Giclee Reproductions
These
museum quality limited edition giclee reproductions are
signed by the artist and numbered to an edition of 200
for each image. A certificate of authenticity is
provided with each Limited Edition Giclee Reproduction.
The Giclee Reproductions can be printed with or without
a 1" border. Matting and framing are not included in the
price; however, you are welcome to contact the artist
for more information on this subject.
The image capture:
The
image of each painting has been captured digitally by
Rob Destrube, of
Destrube Photography, Victoria, British Columbia.
Using a large format high performance camera with
digital scan back by
Better Light, Destrube is able to capture the rich
details of this artwork. The image is recorded and
provided to
Prism
Imaging in Victoria, B.C
The printing process:
At the
printers the image is carefully proofed by a technician
(who has 30 years experience in this industry). The image is then
sent from the computer to a high performance large
format Epson printer and is printed using
Epson
Textured Fine Art Paper. The
archival inks used in this reproduction have
the same longevity as the
Winsor Newton watercolour paints the artist used in
the original painting.
The paper and ink:
The
image is printed with archival inks onto Epson Textured
Fine Art Paper, a 100%
cotton rag paper that has the look and touch of Old
World handmade paper. This acid free cold press
paper is engineered to give the highest resolution and colour saturation possible.
The result:
The
result is the finest museum quality
limited edition
giclee reproduction available today!
Framing Hints:
Use only the best
materials. These cost a little extra, but will ensure
the preservation of your artwork in the best possible
condition.
The mount and all backing materials should be 100% rag,
not just ‘acid-free’ as ‘acid-free’ is only a thin
coating over a NON-acid-free core.
Use conservation glass to protect the artwork from the
light.
Remember that light and humidity are the enemy, so hang
your prints and paintings away from direct light in
addition to using conservation glass.
Do not allow the print to touch the glass when framed.
Do not dry mount, or permanently fix the artwork to the
backing as this decreases the value and damages the
artwork. Use a framer who is knowledgeable about
conservation techniques.
Choose frame colours and styles that match the style of
your home.
